Alumni & Board Weekend at Manice
“It’s been over 30 years since I’ve been here!” remarked our alumni and board member Sin Senh.
“The farmhouse and pond are just as I remembered,” shared another.
This past weekend, alumni spanning the generations gathered at the Manice Education Center in Massachusetts for a nostalgic weekend. The two days were about reconnecting with an important place and helping broaden the circle of our alumni across generations. Board members joined in the fun, too!
The weekend was structured a bit like a return to camp life, including an afternoon hike, challenge course activities, a solo walk under starry skies, and a campfire with toasted marshmallows. The days began and ended with a raccoon circle, called to gather by our trusty farmhouse bell. George, our cook for over 17 years, provided comforting meals that our alumni remember fondly. Sin also offered a delicious BBQ cookout on Saturday evening!
All in all, it was a fantastic weekend of joyful tears, laughter, lots of hugs, nostalgic reflections, and a sense of coming home. We were delighted to be able to offer this weekend getaway for our alumni. It reminded us how, more than ever, Christodora is a place where young people discover who they want to be and how their experiences with us help to guide their lives for years to come.
