New Apple Orchard at Manice

On Sunday, June 9, 2024, friends, family, and Christodora staff gathered at the Manice Education Center for a wonderful pomological event! James Rose, Christodora board member, and apple enthusiast, generously supported the creation of a new “mini-orchard” at Manice. The orchard consists of six different types of apple trees — all heirloom varieties — and is located next to the chicken shed and behind our garden. The ceremony consisted of words of welcome, remarks from board members and family, and the reveal of the Rose Family Orchard sign itself, following a ceremonial planting of the apple tree. We are so excited about this new, special little corner of the property and look forward to the delicious apples in the years ahead. We are grateful to the support of the Rose Family for their support of this initiative.

The apples of our orchard include Baldwin, Golden Russet, Winthrop Greening, Cox Orange Pippin, Gravensteinm, and Roxbury Russet
